15k Service from Brad Garlick

Oil Filter $13.98

Castrol GTX Protec $40.30

Workshop supplies $11.50

Washer solution $4.23

Top up oils and lubes $9.80

Labour $125.00

Environmental waste removal levy $3.45

Sub Total $204.81

Upgrade PCM to P/N 3R23-12A650-GH To fix poor idle failed to fix.

Balanced and rotated wheels $32.50, cheap but I would pay a little extra to have some wombat tighten up the passenger side wheel nuts, they were all finger tight and I wondered what the strange sound was driving home. Got to work and decided to check, I got 3 turns out of all ten wheel nuts, not happy Jan!!! :kissmy:

Right! Just back ...

Oil changed to Castrol Protec 15w40.

No cost, except the 45 mins out of my busy (forum posting) day.

... any suggestions for alternate service in the MacArthur area ... anyone?

*laughs nervously* You can't trust apprentices to even get your car into the workshop these days...

I could list the number of basic things Apprentices and very 'casual' tradespeople have done to my cars over the years just becuase they're useless/sloppy, but it would take too long and I'd want to kill something afterwards....

A.

Right, that's it. You blokes have scared the Ba Jesus out of me now. I bought the GT from a different dealership and I DON'T KNOW HOW GOOD THEIR SERVICE DEPT IS. I do know that I'm still waiting for my FPV steering wheel and GT mats, I have a leaky diff, noisy p/steer pump, 2 scratched rims, a horrible rattley sound from the rear parcel tray. Now I find out that a f#^%king apprentice might work on my storming big brute of a car. Not a chance  I'm taking a packed lunch and/or a sleeping bag and setting up camp in the workshop so I can supervise every move of my 3000klm service :kissmy: Just kidding, its a very scary thought though. Oh also did 1600klm and found out something else - manual GTs lay rubber as far as you want when you make them earn their salt :o :o

I wouldn't camp a the dealers.

I was once told they charge:

$55 an hour,

$75 an hour if you've tried to fix it yourself first, and

$100 an hour if you want to watch.

Maybe I could just peep through a hole in the wall then. No apprentices are working on "The Boss" :gooff:

As a side note to this whole ugly affair, it did give me an opportunity to see 3 BA colours I hadn't seen in the flesh.

Vixen

Lightning Strike

Harvest Green

All on new cars in the lot, the Vixen and Lightning Strike were XR8's and the Green was a N/A XR6.

Gotta say that I was a little (just a little mind) dissapointed with the Vixen. I actually liked the Venom better ... shuddup Ross. :ta:

I liked the Lightning, just not sure how it would look in a GT with black stripes? :gooff:

Keep the Harvest Green. :gooff:

They also had a HgAg (Second Hand) with 6200 ks, Leather, 18's, Premium Sound/Brakes, Manual, sicker price: $49,999. Sales guy said they were actually asking $46,800 (or something) for it.

Sorry Ken,but I'm afraid you've just voided your warranty by using the wrong oil   :innocent: (just kidding)

There's nothing better than telling a dim witted apprentice to completely drain the engine oil out of a car after filling it with the wrong oil.(Yes unfortunately guys these are the people who service your cars and they cant even do that right). But quite right in what everyone is saying Ken,demand they drop the oil and change the filter even if they give you some cockin bull story about their invoicing software(Maybe Windows based).

Also the only reason it's called Gas oil is that the dual fuel and dedicated LPG Fords use the same oil as the T's.

FORDTECH, the story I mentioned about the software program came from....wait for it, wait for it....YOUR DEALERSHIP! Told to me by YOUR DEALERSHIPS SERVICE MANAGER! And as we both know Matthew the dear boy did put the correct oil in my ute!

Maybe it's just not the apprentices that are FU#KING USELESS, IT'S THE SERVICE MANAGERS AS WELL!

Damn. The secrets out.Now everyone is going to know where all the incompetent apprentices go as soon as they qualify.Gonna have to speak to management about different ways of rorting the customers.
