Talk about being riped off. drive to the gold coast I could service it for you and at that price it would still pay for the fuel you use to get here. Lol

Sorry Ken but they haven't done you any favours with the price that's for sure.

As for the oil, you must insist that they replace the oil with the correct one according to the manual. DO NOT accept the explanation that the correct oil was put in but simply invoiced out incorrectly. What is written on paper is what Ford go by if there is a warranty claim on your motor - sure the dealer may end up responsible if something really drastic were to occur, but it is better to just have it all hunky dory right from now rather than be embroiled in some three-way argument down the track.

A wheel alignment is usually around $60 to $70 for a four wheel jobbie which your car must have. A rotation is usually no more than $40. I reckon they have sent your car down the road and sublet these items, and then put a mark-up of about 100% on the top - easy money. Just like the additives they put in - waste of time and money mate - don't let them do it next time. At least not until at least 90,000km.

Sik 'em Rex ... um, er, Ken.

Thanks for the good advice guys ... now this is what this site is really all about.

I'll call them in the morning and hear what they have to say. Either way though, I'm pretty sure my precioussss will be back there getting her oil transfused for the right stuff.

15 - 40 is the correct viscosity oil that Ford specifies in their Maintenance and Specs book in your owners manual. The oil is in fact called Gas oil. :banghead: not sure why, never asked!

I would very much like FORDTECH's response to this topic, and what goes on at his dealership, and what oil they use. And his personal opinion.

Damn!!!!

$330!!!!!!!!!

Next time Ken, give me a call. I reckon I could include the cost of Air fare to wherever you are and do it myself (using the right oil) for you for that price.

Next time buy your own oil and get them to change it for you, then you get to choose something good qlty.

Mine goes to someone I know and trust, even if they do work at K-Mart Auto!

Sorry Ken,but I'm afraid you've just voided your warranty by using the wrong oil :sleepystuff::thumbsup: (just kidding)

There's nothing better than telling a dim witted apprentice to completely drain the engine oil out of a car after filling it with the wrong oil.(Yes unfortunately guys these are the people who service your cars and they cant even do that right). But quite right in what everyone is saying Ken,demand they drop the oil and change the filter even if they give you some cockin bull story about their invoicing software(Maybe Windows based).

Also the only reason it's called Gas oil is that the dual fuel and dedicated LPG Fords use the same oil as the T's.

My car had that at the 15,000k service to, still does it at 28,000ks, interesting to see if yours is fixed.

Hey ford tech I am not having a go at you but if the apprentice supervized correctly they should be able to at lest the service right.when I did my apprenticeship if I could not do this I did not have a job.

As for the alignment costs rotate balance and align roughly 50 bucks up here.
