What ever youve been on JB I want some

vik

ah the ever helpful vik, can I get some to. is it OK to do the figure 8 while smoking the back tyres. Think this would be more fun, except that "cooltint" doesn't know how to do it, the square.

I had my 15,000km service done yesterday.

Oil filter.

XR series oil.

Injector cleaner.

Wiper solution.

Wiper blades.

Rotated wheels.

Brake pulsation (shudder) fix.

ECU reflash with the latest "HJ" calibrations. And the calibrations are definately the latest because FORDTECH did the service for me.

Trip computer was informed it was in a ute, it previously had no identity. This should tell the DTE that I have a 85l tank instead of a 68l sedan tank.

Total $180.00, not bad I thought!

That's a good price, which dealer ? As I have to book mine in

It's actually $198 but they said I would get it for $180. I think because I paid cash, no GST or something, don't really know.

Sorry I can't tell you which dealer, because FORDTECH works there. As most members are probably aware and I'm sure will agree FORDTECH has helped out alot here with answering questions and info on various problems and fixes etc etc, and some people within Ford might not like him posting the info that he does. So after I showed him this site and he became a member I was asked not to disclose who he was or where he works and I will keep my promise. I'm sure everyone will understand.

Hi everyone, I just had my 15,000kms service done and had the following things to be fixed.

Brake shudder

Exhaust heat shield rattle

Stalling problem

Steering shudder

They installed the updated brake shims machined the rotors and brakes are really good now, they fixed the heat shield - no rattle now, they updated the computer to stop the stalling issue, BUT they did nothing about the steering shudder because they say Ford is aware of the issue but is investigating a solution for it. They say they did nothing to the steering but the minute I drove off after the service the steering shudder was quite noticably worse then before I took the car in for the service...

Should this have been fixed? (silly question), Is there a solution to this problem as yet that anyone knows about?

Cheers.

Jeremy

The solution is join a gym, work out,and when you look like Arnie go back to the dealer and in your best Arnie voice"GOOD MOURNING,HOV ARE YOU?NOW FIX MY F#CKIMG CAR OR I MIGHT GET MAD WITH YOU!

Its the only way, dont take any crap, its the desk jockies job to try and get the least done that they can, they get bonous points for it.

Next time you go in ,observe the pric k going for bonous points

Ok...15k service has come around and ive just dropped her off at the dealers.

I'm going to get charged at 2:30 2day $335 for the service...

They say the'll be putting in 10w30 GXR Mobile oil - I was reading Ken's 15k service thread...

http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...hl=service&st=0

and I see every1 was kicking up a stink about it should be 15w40 oil....the service guy is going to find out more about the oil for me and call me back. I do also recall that there was a change in the oil that ford reccomend....

I'm just really nervous atm and wanna make sure she'll come outa there with everything in the right place and the right fluids in her.....I dont wanna transfuse the wrong oil or anything like that......great....now im not even making sense. :w00t2:

everything else in the service is ok...I'm just not ok with this whole oil thing so I'll prolly end up doing that myself.

*30 minutes later*

ok...called them and they insist on using that type of oil...despite what ive been reading here....I choose to put my faith in the forums instead...I said dun wurry about changing the oil...just bill me for the filter...ill do it myself. I'm just not happy with it so I'll do it myself  May even get the price below sub $300 mark :w00t2: its all good...as long as my preeeeccious is ok I'm happy.

there were also a few warranty issues that they are taking care of as well.

front grill loose - fixed

passenger window squeeling - fixed

window switches not illuminating - fixed - all lighting up now

bumper bar sagging - fixed

heat shield rattling - replaced - fixed

theyre doing good with the warranty stuff...no problems what so ever...just the price seems very high...but then again...I've got no idea what they actually do on a service like this so I'll just pay it like a good little lemming :w00t2:

I'll scan the final invoice when I get it this arvo so every1 can see what I got for what.
