just been running around with my gt35 fitted up, dummied it up, withno water lines(yet to be made) got kinda carried away and drove around for good hour or so. came home and have noticed that the turbo is very noisy when the car is turned off, also the it wont spin over and nicely as it used to feels alot rougher.

still sh*t all shaft play and no in-out shaft play, just wondering what damage iv done hopefully I have just shat a brand new turbo!

still boosting up fine and making great power no contact or damage to compressor wheel or anything, hopeing I havent melted my bearing packs or something due to lack of water cooling?

OK, I'm not usually this blunt, but you are a freakin idiot for driving the thing without the water lines hooked up - they are there for a reason!!! Were the oil lines connected?

BB turbos use a small bearing race to hold the ball bearings in place inside the cartridge. The amount of oil that runs through them for lubrication is only very small and is not enough to cool the cartridge, only lubricate it.

Get the turbo off and have it pulled down to see what condition the bearing race is in, DO NOT DRIVE IT BEFORE YOU GET THIS CHECKED OR YOU GET YOUR WATER LINES

If the damage is only minor to the bearing race, then yeah, you should be able to have it re-built. If its scored metal then yeah, new chra.

If you are in NSW get in contact with ETM, he is a forum sponsor and can get new parts or complete turbos
