About right but I dont believe 4 weeks (4 hours really) is enough. When I went to RSPCA puppy classes it was just a socialisation thing. WOFTAM

I then did some home lessons with my Sheperd and a trainer and he also runs classes every Saturday for $10. $10 bucks is well worth it as its roughly 1-1.5hr classes and part of that money goes to the upkeep of the park, puppy pens etc.

There's also another thing at the same park (Carine open space) where you pay $50 a year and you join hundred++ dogs in classes every Sunday. You start from the bottom and work your way up.

Perhaps looking into something like that could be better?

Fantastic advice guys - and a very cool puppy!!!

Yeah like all the rest have said, puppy school - well not necessarily just puppy school - obedience training is a good thing, and you can have tons of fun doing things like agility if you and your dog get keen at the training. Flyball is another good one too.

But yeah, interaction with other puppies is a great thing. My dog still bites me, and he's nearly 2! But I encourage it, and he knows its ok. He doesnt bite anyone else. And we also have stacks of toys for him, tug o war style, squeaky toys, stuffed animals, old shoes, old slippers, old towels for pulling etc.

A word of advice - if you want to keep anything - remotes, sunglasses, shoes, keys, put them out of reach of the puppy! He will find them, and destroy them! We had a german shepherd puppy, he went through 4 Foxtel remotes, 3 Oakleys, a pair of Nikes, several reading glasses..... they were all left lying around, and he found them, and ripped them! No point going off at him after he has finished, too late then. Preventative is better.

puppy pre school is basically just for socialising and getting out and about while the puppies are young ( I took my jack russell to puppy pre school cause she was too young to go to the park, 12 weeks and under)

I'd still take him to puppy pre school, then a few basic obedience courses!

my dog still bites (she's 1 now) but that's cause I rev her up and play, she knows its ok until I say "friends" and she stops, haha.

Get him a hard rubber toy that he can chew on and get him to play with it.

If he's biting stuff you don't want him to bite, put something that tastes disgusting on it eg. lemon, pepper, chilli, wasabi etc.

In time he'll associate those things for tasting disgusting and will no longer bite them.

hey mate

I got a labrador few months ago, she is now 16 weeks old and only got out of the biting ALL the time around 3 weeks ago. She still bites a little bit but its when she is playing, very rarely just tries to bite all the time now. You just need to have patience, there mouth is our hands, that's how they play, show affection etc. Get a hard toy that he can chew on. There are plenty of suggestions out there about to stop it but really, hes a puppy and only time will help him. Few things people suggest are everytime they bite you let out a big yelp so they know they have hurt u, that's what their brothers and sisters would do when playing and they get hurt. Another is when they are biting u say a firm no and replace your hand with something they are allowed to chew. Personally I think that one is hard cause u always need a toy close by. Just have patience as time is the best medicine and like I said, mine stopped it at about 14 weeks
