I have the 6 speed on my xr6t and love the box, im just wondering if it is worth the extra cash in terms of fuel usage.

I have a 4spd XR6T, and the NA FG 6SPD is a bullet off the line. Very quick and zippy up to around 35-40kmh, and then it just dies as there's no turbo. The 4spd is great in a turbo, but in an NA it would be too slugish and slow.

I had a BF2 NA XT with a 6 speed auto and the thing screamed its tits off. Great gearbox, now I have it in my FG XRT and its even better in this one.. This prob doesnt answer anything just thought I would add it anyway.

I would say it's not really worth upgrading boxes (if you have a 4spd). But the 6spd is a bit more fuel economical.. but still not enough to write home about though. Guest XR09 Guests Posted 07/01/10 02:31 AM Share Posted 07/01/10 02:31 AM Well my XF 4 sp Auto got around 13.1 and it was pretty av. Slow off the line, good thing as it could not put down any power while not running in a dead strait line. Slow to change down, or up. But it never faulted. And was a better box than the cromodore. My Fg, same sort of traveling av's 11.3 And it's the best auto I have owned.I am not sure of the price difference, but even over the five speed it's worth every cent for mine.Ans when it comes to resale, guess what they are gunna want
