True... just noticed its dry chem too. Not going to do jack to a liquid fire.

If your car ends up in a fire or a smash and your insurance assessor sees it in the boot how are you going to prove it wasn't functioning at the time of the incident.

I also thought you could put one of them in the boot but now sure how good they would work being so far away from the engine.

Boots are for golf clubs , shopping and dead bodies. Batteries and fuel pumps( surge tanks) are best left under the bonnet and under the car.

Why? If anything you would want a noisy surge tank as far away as possible, you could also sound proof the boot if you want.
