Is anyone running one in an FG XR with standard turbo on 98? Raise your hand.

If I had an FG I would be.. I know dre is.

350 through a ba bottom end wont necessarily kill it instantly but your engine is guaranteed to fail sooner not later.

Same goes for not running a surge tank. The law of physics still applies to an FG. Its not if but when.

The right condition for your engine to lean out and bye bye fg.

That's not really what I asked and dre's is an F6 with 360+. FG's have been out for 4 years and can't think of a single one that's blown because of lack of fuel at 320, it's just hype.

Agree they are a good thing and necessary with more power but don't think they are a must have at 320, like people are saying. I'm just going to do what every other FG XR owner has done for the last 4 years without dramas and upgrade the fuel pump and spend the $1000 on something else.

I'm sure other people will continue to do this too.

I have one on my G6ET, peace of mind, not having to worry about making sure I have enough fuel etc etc.

Why spend loads of $$$$ for power upgrades if you are too worried to use that new power!!!!

Even at $1000, cheap insurance.

I can think of at least 5 fgs that's have blown at that low power level, and they generally break from lean afrs as a result of lack of fuel, or bad tuning.

Any power increase over standard is a risk.

This Topic is interesting as a tuner told me that a surge was not needed for 350kw

fg are alot better then a bf and ba also a ute system is better as the tank is in the middle

Different story if you are doing track work and drags

I don't understand why people try to get away with no surge tank. As others have said its piece of mine knowing that you don't have to always think "sh*t how much fuel have I got?" before giving it a poke. Stock or 400kw you can still get your car to surge if you boot it up a hill or around a corner, I know this for a fact.

So if your spending money on mods and a tune, why not save a little more and just put one in for the insurance.

just out of curiosity, how do my stainless EFI hose clamps differ from these EFI hose clamps?

Firstly, yours are hose clamps, not efi clamps.

The big difference is yours has holes where the thread of the screw pulls against. This will cut into the rubber over time.

Secondly, Im sure those clamps were only for show when kev made the unit, but he ships his surge tanks with clamps where you need a special kind of pliers to lock. Although in saying that, those hose clamps are suitable and will not cut into the rubber as there is no holes for the thread.

If I had 350kw I wouldn't take the risk...

I used hose clamps on my intank and filled it with small rubber particles ...
