After owning two Expensive Daewoo v8s I'm ready to try my first Ford. Looked at an XR8 wasn't real impressed. Have looked at a couple of BA F6s and they are fkn insane!! This car has converted me. Just wanted to know what people thought, have the option of buying a 300rwkw one or a stock, but cleaner model, both for around $30k. Any thoughts? Anything I should look out for? Thanks.

I drove Commo's for years as company cars. Then started novating leases instead. I have had an XR6T ( 280 rwkw), a BA Phoon (315 rwkw)and BF Phoon(370 rwkw)

Do you need to have a manual ?The BF is a better and more refined car no doubt.Mated with a ZF auto it is a match made in heaven.

If purchasing a modded car, all you can do is test drive it , perhaps talk to the tuner for some history and hope for the best it hasn't been flogged to death.

Floggings also happen to stock cars. Bottom line is the BF is a better car than the BA in stock trim. Both respond very well to mods.

Things to look out for...........hmmmm

Check under the guards for burnt rubber lol, boost leaks the exhaust manifold bolts and all the usual voodoo.

As stated, both could have been flogged, although an unmodified example is not going to stress mechanical and driveline components to the same point. However, I would be looking at servicing and overall condition with this decision.Look luck I am also a convert to the blue from red corner.Cheers

Thanks for the advice, I would like a BF but there still a bit pricey. I also really would like a manual and you cant really choose the manual over the ZF so BA it is. Had a look at a couple of BF xr6t's but the Typhoon really feels like something special which I love.

lol. Mate I have a fairly modded Expensive Daewoo V8 manual. Couldnt afford a BF, and Brought to me the next best thing. Ba XR6 Turbo 4spd auto. (Ex-Police) or for us Expensive Daewoo fans a BT-1. And let me tell ya the thing is F%#king awesome. I Have never driven a stocker like it. Want to save cash, buy a very clean BA turbo. From what I understand ( and anyone out there corect me if im wrong ) 4k of mods will smoke and v8 HSV all day, everyday. On that note, enjoy when ya buy one...... I do. lol
