hey guys

I have an 04 ba mark1 4 speed auto xr6 turbo with 145000kms on it and is stock as a rock. im having problems when you give it a boot full it boost cuts near the redline. when looking at the boost gauge it use to boost to 6 psi and now its climbing all the way to 9 psi. it had a new set of gen coils and plugs about 5000 kms ago and has a new boost control solenoid. ive checked all the hoses and intercooler pipes. the cat appears to be in good order and ive manually checked the wastegate actuator, it appears to be free but im unsure as im no ford mechanic (im a toyota mechanic). any help would be greatly appreiciated as im at a complete lose. thanks guys

cheers tim.

I dare say that the diaphram inside the actuator is stuffed mate or on its way out.

we had the same issue with a customers car around a month and a half ago.

we removed the haltech interceptor thinking this was the issue. still over boosting.

we changed the wastegate solenoid. still over boosting..

finally we changed the standard actuator and it was finally running factory boost again..

I dare say that is your issue unless you bought the car 2nd hand and the previous owner has left an bigger actuator on.
