If you want rare look at how many Harvest Green XR's are out there.

I think there was only 1 Harvest Green BA GT ever made. Now that is rare.

That being the case, makes this car already collectable. Further, with FPV offering a vehicle locator website tool, these vehicles definately going to appreciate in value more likely sooner than later.

Serious? Wouldn't mind some proof of that?

As far as old XBs and the like gaining value I think it has something to do with metal over plastic.

These old collectible muscle cars and mostly metal, not half plastic (bumbers, skirts wings etc..)

To me it's like saying a 96 magna will be worth something in 20 years, it's just a pipe dream.

Maybe the GT40's, Cobras and a few GT/F6's in rarer colour/gearbox combos but that's about it.

If a BA XRT is worth 50k in 30 years I think I would die of shock.

In relation to VL turbo pricing in the eighties I am informed that this was the case due to most cars on the market where Ex-pursuit vehicles

I wouldn't call that proof but I'll take your word for it, it's also a pretty substantial fact you neglected to mention, lol.

20 years on and VL's (non modified) are still worth f*ck all, the same path the XRT will follow.

Very debatable, and quite illogical, what would make you think that an unmodified VL is still worth little. A low K unmodified belina recently sold for $28,000. It is in fact quite common knowledge that low K unmodified examples are where the long term money is at, cheers.

Although I find that extremely hard to believe I'm sure theres more to the story. Like it had a gold plated engine or was owned by Brockie or something.

That and the fact that I own one.

For this thread to be taken seriously and debated properly I think all sale claims should come with relevant proof, not just "a mate told me once" or "I read it somewhere".

If ford drop the rear wheel drive platform and go front wheel drive V6. Grab one of the last model specifically a limited edition of sorts with options. They will certainly hold there value then.

The GTHO became collectible because it was the last of the true homologated race cars for the street...

NONE of the current range is similar, nor is it likely to be.

when and IF they halt production of XR6 Turbo, then the last model may become collectible IF something bigger and better doesn't replace it...

I agree with the point above, while you're speculating about turbo ford variants you're also speculating about the continued use of petrol powered cars and fuel availability. If petrol cars become pretty rare id imagine its only the exotics people will really want to collect. 30 years is a long time, some things don't seem to change much yet others have huge changes. Guess we'll have to see what happens.

My 2c is drive it and enjoy it.
