Which Turbo Falcon Will Be The Most Collectable

The initial media hype stated that the FG XR6 Turbo was the best sports sedan ever made in Australia. Topgear say that it is the best sports car under $100,000 in the world. I guess the question is which is the one to hang on too long term. Do bathurst factor into the equation. Do manufacting numbers influence collectability. Will it be a case that only the F6's will become collectable. I know that there are some very wise and knowledgable people within this forum. So of the questions that I would like to know include production numbers, both auto and manual. As history has shown that manuals tend to have a higher resale, and collectability. Although with the quality of the ZF auto this may not be the case. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, as I am in the process of buying one of these magic cars, I really believe that this will be one worth keeping. I guess colour selection may also be important, Cheers.

They will never be as collectable as a GTHO so don't buy it for investment reasons.

However, in 30 years time if you have a good sample, unmodified, with low klms, matching numbers, in concourse condition, etc, it will no doubt be worth something to a collector.

If you were going to sit on one for 30 years, my pick of the models would be the last of the inline 6 engined cars that will roll off the production line in the next couple of years. Once the V6 is brought over from the states, and the Geelong engine assembly plant comes to a hault, the last of the inline cars could be worth something given time.

After all, it is the last in a long line of the only Aussie built, designed engines getting around at the moment. That has to be worth something for sentimental reasons.

I think the Force 6 and the Force 8 will be. Even more so than the RSpec's.

Anyone know the build numbers on these three models?

As much as I love my T and the F6. To answer your original question, none of them will be collectable imo.

As for this little statement. If this is a quote, then TG must be on drugs. The F6 is just a tarted up family sedan/taxi. Its not even a true sports car. Then to say its the best in the world under $100k...pft. In the USA they sell M3's for US$60K and M5's for US$90k. I know which car I would prefer if the choice was F6 or M5

I thought the same as Bezerker about the Force 6. There were bugger all made. Nothing had been done like it before, or since in the Ford range.

Now I'm not so sure if the Force 6 will be as prized though. More collectable than a standard T though and you can pick them up for less than a Typhoon of the same vintage at the moment. Worth keeping in mind, thas for sure.

My thoughts are that at the time of writing our dollar was not at its current rate of exchange, however as an appreciative fan of motor vehicles, I guess that there may be some other things to be considered. Service costs, depreciation, and running costs. Therefore this debatable, although this was the Australian version of top gear, not the US version. So I suppose we really need to think about this in context. Which means we live in Australia not the US. Comparatively speaking U or I can buy that car for that money, Cheers

Everything is collectable once enough water has passed under the bridge of time. Lol.
