Hey all,

Currently looking at buying an xr6t, found a really good one but has two faults.

He has the urethane bushes in the car, and he said when he slows down he sometimes hears a thump. Would this be the urathane bushes as they are really rigid?

Also, it has new diff gears, etc, but a dyno place found that the rear diff mount is cracked. How severe is this?

Thanks

Diff mount the mechanic said. But this car has had a new diff in and diff gears, seen paper work. The owner said the problem was the urathane bushes causing the thump. Is this because the urathane bushes are harder?

If they mean the diff mount and not bush, it could be the harder urethane bush has caused the diff bolt to crack where it holds the diff. This is because the harder bushes dont allow the diff to move under torque, so all the pressure is then left to the diff bolt to handle.

mine does that and its really annoying, from what ive heard the urathane bushes are meant to stop it as there is less play as the stock rubber ones can wear out quickly causing the diff to move up and down and cause a thump.
