Becuase the cruiser was not for traffic work (as previously stated before) These weren't uniformed traffic cops prenteding to be hoons in new SS utes and Aurions, these were undercover detectives obviously working a case.

Think about it. How effective is a bright blue SS ute going to be to keep a low profile while doing investigative work in the forest areas near wear I live.... You would stand out like cops straight away. No-one would suspect an older looking landcruiser ute bounding around the forest areas. Everyone has one.

Also, you effective do you think a v8 SS ute will be pursuing someone down rough forestry roads?

These were NOT traffic cops. If they were, I would have been taken to the cleaners...

If they were wearing uniforms, how would you know that the uniform was legit? Where do you draw the line? C'mon... I was doing something very illegal, racing and speeding excessively. If I was driving normally, there is no way I would have pulled over.

I wasnt driving a GTHO phase III or a 65 GT500 shelby. This is a stock looking XR6T. I see stacks of them everyday. They didnt pull me over becasue I drive a "rare and priceless" car that they could steal. I only became something of their attention once I accelerated right IN FRONT OF THEM from 0-140+ in an 80 zone.

If they were U/C or D's or even TAG running round in a bush ute, it would have been borrowed from a car yard that they have an arrangement with. They would not outfit the vehicle with warning devices except for maybe a set that plugs into the ciggie lighter and sits on the dash or sits on the roof via a magnet. I was in for just under 8 years and we always borrowed cars from a local car yard for plain clothes work/surveillance.

The drug squad use landcruisers and yes they have the flashing lights that you mentioned. And it's that time of year they go out in the bush and play.

They also feel themselves above the norm and would not like wasting thier time booking you. Cause if they did they would have to abt you and if you went well thier stuck with you for the night.

Lucky man.

Just a pointer for all you out there.

When you are pulled over for speeding and they ask you why you speeding?????

For god sake don't come up with a bull crap excuse that's only going to make them laugh at you. They love that.

The reason they ask you is so you confirm your guilt and there is no way in hell your getting out of that ticket, easy peasy for him.

When they ask you why you were speeding.... 1. say nothing or 2. say I am sorry officer I dont believe I was. ok

Other wise your stuffed its called a leading question and it one of the first things a traffic cop learns.

Rang the local police station. None of their undercover cars have sirens, nor do they have obvious lights other than subtle internal lights. The girl in

Astonishing and hard to believe, but every state is different.

What have red & blue flashing lights and headlights that flash and some dodgy police badges and book.

How did you know the ID's were legit?

99% of the time police in unmarked cars are in full uniform.

Maybe they wont steal your car or do anything else to you. Hey maybe it was legit.

I.B. what do you suggest?

Nothing, a load of paranoia going nowhere.

I always thought they asked to allow you to give a legitimate reason. Leading questions are not illegal, they just narrow down all the possible bullsh!t answers.

You'd be amazed at what the police drive.....especially U/C cops....

One of my friends fits surveillance gear for several govt depts. and last time I saw him he was fitting out a Tarago with cameras, lights and all sorts of stuff.....

Even in their own cars....to and from work....they can still go you if they think it necessary.

As an aside, I'll relay something I saw a few months back.....

Im stopped at a crossing....behind a Honda Civic with an old ute in front at the crossing...

A woman is using the crossing and the bottom falls out of her shopping bag, there's groceries and cans rolling around and shes frantically trying to pick them up .....

The Civic and I wait patiently....but the tool in the ute doesn't even bother to get out and help her....instead, he sticks his head out the window and starts abusing her....I hear him yelling..."Come on...get going you silly bitch"

By this time, Im working out wether Ive got enough time to get out and run up to punch him in the head or not...WHEN.....

The door opens on the Civic and out steps a policewoman in uniform....

She walks past the ute, tells the driver to stay put, helps the lady with her bags and then directs this idiot in the ute to the side of the road while I drive past and give her a big thumbs up :Welcome2FordXR6t:

It was just gold!!!

I love the fact that your openly admitting to doing 60kmph over the speed limit on a site that every 1 in the world has access to and im sure it would b monitored every now and again by individuals that could get a stiffy over that :Welcome2FordXR6t:
