I have seen NSW cops drive everything and anything, so you never know who is about.I have been pulled over by a Nissan Patrol in full UC setup with the strobes and sirens and also seen a beaten up old XF ute with a guy and girl in work gear (kinggee) tearing around after bank robbers. You did the right thing as you passed the attitude test and they gave you some slack. I am sure you will not try that again in a hurry as the guy in the SS could have easily been an unmarked cop and you would have been charged. This is a good lesson for everyone about street racing, you never know who is around or what is going to happen. Dont feel too bad though mate we've all done it & some of us have gotten away with & some havent the main thing is that you've learnt from it. I'd probably pull in at the first servo and see if they follow you in. Id do the same if someone was following me home - that way its a busy venue with video surveilance so if anything goes bad at minimum there is some evidence. And the servo advice is spot on, as long its not to 200km away.Flashing lights are all good and well, but if there's no siren id be real sus.I.B. gregor Member 459 Member For: 16y 8m 17d Posted 09/11/09 03:57 AM Share Posted 09/11/09 03:57 AM that's the one (I'm from the central coast so it was a big deal in our local papers).Talking about not stopping, a few weeks into my P's I got the sirens in the rear view mirror for an RBT and the highway patrol bloke got stuck into me for turning a corner and stopping on a side street because where he used the sirens was a no stopping zone. I didnt want to get done for stopping there Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/63407-cops-are-everywhere/page/2/#findComment-952113 Share on other sites
seduced Need more power. Now taking donations. Member 753 Member For: 16y 2m 11d Gender: Male Posted 09/11/09 04:08 AM Author Share Posted 09/11/09 04:08 AM Rang the local police station. None of their undercover cars have sirens, nor do they have obvious lights other than subtle internal lights. The girl in "traffic" didnt know of any landcruiser ute, but then again she didnt sound like she knew anything...but then again, why would they give away the details of their undercover cars? I could be anyone. No one impersontaing police would go to the trouble that these guys did to pull me over in such a high-vis busy place, to have all the IDs, lights, notebooks, cop-talk just to steal my car a few days later. What is a stock xr6T worth to them? They could get one anywhere. What I did was very wrong. Had they been traffic cops I'd be really stuffed. If I was an UC cop returning after a stint and saw some young guy dragging off at the lights and reaching the speeds I did, I would pull him over as well. I defintely needed a stern warning. Its not like I was just doing 10-15km/h over, I was racing and exceeding the limit by 60km/h. that's jail time. They had a duty to pull me over. AND the usual full size numberplates, which to me always screams "coppers!" he was a top guy, he even let me have a go at the laser! anyway, the point to my story is if they can't even go to the trouble of fitting slimline number plates to make the car look more civilian, then why would they go to the trouble fitting out a clapped out old Land Cruiser that could be quite dangerous for the police in a pursuit situation! What have red & blue flashing lights and headlights that flash and some dodgy police badges and book. How did you know the ID's were legit? 99% of the time police in unmarked cars are in full uniform.Maybe they wont steal your car or do anything else to you. Hey maybe it was legit.I.B. what do you suggest?
