As for me, I have learnt my lesson. I'll stick to the legal dragways from here on in. Victory in a street race is not worth the 3 month suspension that follows...

Take it from me mate, keeping calm as you did and being respectful saved you more than 3 months. Im 4 months into 18 months worth of walking, bike riding, and public transport, as well as being over $3500 lighter in my bank balance thanks to solicitor fees, impound fee's and fines. Whether they were legite or not, you have had your wake up call, just as I did. You now have a real life story that may help someone else rethink their urge to give it a crack.

I think the only way to assure yourself that you wont do rediculous speeds is to buy a car that's very gutless like an auto fiesta.. These cars are to easy to get into trouble with and too hard not to sink the boot every so often. Can anyone on this forum that has spent the dollars and modded their xr6t honestly say they just pot around in it and stick to the speed limits all the time? Im not talking about street racing, burnouts or heroic gatherings just driving when theirs nobody else around you. Do you give it stick to remind you where your moneys gone or just wait till Calder finally opens to go for a thrash. Its going to get to the point where its pointless having a fast street car if you have to contend with jacks in hoon cars and radar binoculars that can pick you off 1km away. Buy a standard falcon and buy a fast boat might be my next option and maybe just build a purpose built drag car that cant be driven on the street.

Its not entrapment.

If a cop yells abuse at you, do you punch him in the face and then say that he forced you to do it?

If a cop revs next to you, and you race, he didnt force anything. You made the decision. In most street racing situations, if the guy next to you pulls away hard but suddenly pulls out before getting over 40km/h, there is no way you would continue to accelerate at warp speed...

Also, the second you loose traction, they nab you for hooning...
