Well, I ended up buying a TT. Loving it so far. And seeing as though I didn't lease it, that means mod time...

I asked this question on the ford forums, and so far, no reply....strangely..

This week I have the TT booked in for cai and tune, I had bung removed last week.

My question is, for those that have had injectors done, how did u find your economy? I've been told debung, cai and tune will give better power/economy, does the economy get better, worse or stay the same compared to not doing injectors. I don't really want to sacrafice economy for power, and I gather doing injectors will hurt warranty aswell, as you probably wouldn't be able to reflash back to standard?

Obviously the way you drive will change the economy, I'm doing mainly highway driving

No performance mob I have talked to has ever mentioned getting a cooler thermostat either, any opinions on this?

Also thinking about throwing a set of 20's on, anyone with 20's drive on rougher than average roads with them on? If so, how do u find ride quality/road noise compared to 18's?

Thanks in advance..

Your economy will get better with a proper tune....dependant entirely on how heavy your right foot is though.

Doing anything will hurt the warranty on related components, and yes bigger injectors means no flashing back to stock tune. But do you need injectors replaced - what are you aiming for?

Ideally I would love 22's, but that would be way too harsh out here. I compare the ride on the TT with stock 18's to that on a sedan with 16's or 17's, so I was thinking that going 20's would equal the ride of 18's on a sedan. Personally I would love to see one dumped on its guts riding on 14's, nice wide tyres with a high profile...

I don't NEED the injectors replaced, no. But from what I have been reading, you can get another 20 odd kw's at the wheels by doing your injectors at the same time. Primarily I am after a bit better economy, and just going cai, tune, debung will do that. But if people are getting comparable figures economy wise with larger injectors added onto those mods, then it would be worth doing, as you still get better fuel economy than stock, and its all done in one hit, so I don't have to drive 1400kms and pay again to get injectors done and retuned.

Hope that makes sense...

Raging, speak to Dave 'Blueboost' on the forum, he's tuned a 12sec TT with and has told me numerouse times that they can pull great numbers with very little work as they are so heavy and hook up brilliantly, I'm thinking one of these will be my missus next car. He is in Mackay, and his reputation precedes him, and being ble to go 'local' means more $$$ for mods, lol.

I've been in 2 tt's with 22's on them and they seem to ride the same as a sedan with 20's, maybe a bit smoother as they have a sidewall around 45 profile. The 22's look HOT but I can see where you are coming from wanting that bit of extra sidewall out here.

Thanks mattyb, will try to track him down. Booked in Friday to get the work done, so time is running a little short, see how we go :runaway:

Raging.

Had the mods done a few years back and the economy was far better/Expecially on a highway run.I get 680km to a tank from Sydney to Brisvegas and 500 around the town.

Put your foot down and you will be searching for a fuel leak out the back,Just like any car.

You might want to try those big wheels first as I had some 275/35/20s on the other week to see how they would go and it was shocking.Maybe some 45/50 series would be better and some lowered springs for sure.Car was sitting way to high with this set up on.

I just gave them back to my mate so PM me if you want his contact details. They require 4 new tyres as well.

I would say you could get 1K for your originals on a trade in.

How did your mods go anyway/Was that booked in today.Attach a dyno sheet if you got one.
