It was introduced in FG. It might be over boosting and pinging due to a free flowing exhaust. I'd recommend taking it for a tune as soon as possible and in the mean time keep it in the lower half of the rev range, otherwise you risk it going bang.Yes that is correct hence my comment that there might be a tune issue. I would be gettin it looked at. It may be leaning out up top.Rhino,The burrp will just get louder once you have a tune. I'm be getting more mods on monday including exhaust so mine is only going to sound better, nice.Benny

When I get her tuned up, will it still do this cause I love the sound? It reminds me of an off-its-tits rally car I think you are refering to anti-lag in the rally car. As far as I know it was only done once to an xr6t and they called it hiroshima. Its done by retarding the timing on closed throttle (foot is off but butterfly is still open) to keep the turbo boosting. Not sure about fg but in b series the popping is unburnt fuel being dumped into the turbo if temps of around 900c and over are reached. It its done to cool the turbo but the fuel still ignites. This is why there is a black puff of smoke. Ford put it in and cappa took it out of their generic tune. that's why most people running them are cracking their exhaust housings (happened to me).It is a good thing to have and you can avoid the power loss by practicing your shifting. I made the mistake of running I generic tune for too long and paid for it. Black puffs of smoke are good. Blue puffs are bad. Although I am sure a tuner would be able to explain it 1000x better then I have. Edited 12/01/10 12:48 AM by Paulie2256
