Are there any vibrations through the car or is the popping purely in the exhaust.

If the popping is due to bad idle/fuel/spark then I would get it fixed. If you cannot feel the popping (just hear it) then it is probably your exhaust and no big deal.

But without hearing it I don’t think you will get a reliable diagnosis just suggestions

^^^ Custom tune recommended if you have a cooler and intake mod done, the generics are for stock cars and it's a bit risky from what I've read here many a time. Plus more power to be had!

Hey all...

My manual FG (tuned etc with 4" exhaust) pops and farts like a mofo, even when awdling about! :)

Sounds nuts at higher revs when jumping off the gas...and scares the crap out of

pedestrians and the like!

Deano..

The anti-pollution air returns cause a lot of popping. Something in the throttle body or in that area with air returning back to the intake system somehow. They call it smogging and it reduces emissions.

They do it on bikes as well and real easy to block off the air returns and it eliminates the popping all together.

Mine does it and has been doing it since I changed the exhaust,,,umm abt 3 or 4 years ago.
