If the popping is due to bad idle/fuel/spark then I would get it fixed. If you cannot feel the popping (just hear it) then it is probably your exhaust and no big deal. Something in the throttle body or in that area with air returning back to the intake system somehow. They call it smogging and it reduces emissions. They do it on bikes as well and real easy to block off the air returns and it eliminates the popping all together.Mine does it and has been doing it since I changed the exhaust,,,umm abt 3 or 4 years ago.
