Guys - looks like this is all sorted and ready to the public.

Was with my fav dealer 'yet again' today (alto)... and managed to pick myself up a copy of the T&C's...

* Ford Factory Extended Warranty - Same as the Standard Factory Warranty.

* Can be utilized through any of Fords dealers that have decided to join the warranty program.

* Underwritten by Allianz.

* IS NOT A 'DEALER' WARRANTY - BY YES A FORD AUSTRALIA PROGRAM!

Ask your local - if can find out any info - PM me and ill see if I can find it in the pretty little blue book and point you in the right direction!

:buttrock:

Looks like something ill be taking up with some luck!

My dealer told me they still sell the Swann one and they had not heard about the MyFord one (2 weeks ago).

The pricing for the 1,2 & 3 year options were very similar. It was like $1200, $1300 & $1400 respectivley.

I do not know if I am going for the extended warranty as we will be rerplacing the TTG next year, but a year is a long time when it comes to expensive TTG parts.

Zap - apparently the Swann one is the old one... Rubbish warranty... or so ive been told...

Could also be one where it must be serviced by that dealer...

The new one is from Ford/Allianz, and from what I have read (flicking through) can be serviced at any of the Ford network approved service locations, with the same warranty by Ford Australia new car (so far again from what I have flicked through)...

PM me guys if you want more info...

Considering - if there is a few that are interested, will talk with the guys and see if we cant try to get some sort of discount maybe...

(dont know if this would work or not, or even be possible... just a thought but)...

Ill scan the cover of the booklet and post it up some time over the weekend...

hey guys,

I been researching this and have been to 2 ford dealerships. One has offered the myford/alliance and the other only the old swann.

As my car runs out soon and I have had a large number of things fixed under warranty in the past year,I am keen to extend the factory warranty.

has anybody taken this up and even made a claim so far? the 2nd dealership was saying that it was hard to claim through alliance but I have a feeling this may be just be their sales pitch for the swann. cheers.

The factory warranty is supposed to be an extension of what you've already got, so can't imagine how it would be any harder to claim?

I'd say it's part of the sales pitch.

I got the 5 year 200k myFord one free with my car, I just thought it was just tactics to get a sale from me. I never had a warrenty that worked, I hope this one does.

Mate,

From what 'I' understand the Swann one was with a selected number of dealers, reselling insurance from Swann, rahter then Ford (as such)...

This myFord (alliance) warranty is 'FORD' branded and as far as I know its just a simple extnetion...

Warranty claims are raised with Ford in the normal manner - just as they are with the 3yr 100,000km jobs...

Hope this helps.

Have a chat to Ford themselves on 13FORD if you like, rather then your dealer(s)...
