Thanks Simon, I know where your coming from mate, as far as the Albin's units are concerned I wasn't running the complete unit that they have on offer just recently, when I purchased mine around 3.5 months ago they weren't available, I run there billet 28 spine shafts and billet inner and outer cage's in standard ford covers, in all fairness I have done around 10K in these shafts and around 5 passes on street tires with the street tune, the first diff broke before they did so what can I say they are not a week unit but they will not withstand full slicks and my race tune for very long this is honest.

On a different note buddy I can launch the car at 3000 or even 4000 I have done this however the results will be 2sec 60', remember I am trying to run a 10 fella's not just post a mph reading so I need a good 60' under 1.8sec to have a chance at that. This is the only reason/logic I am launching at these levels.

PS: Roland's car (quick 6) had two pass's first pass just turned the tires so Kyle came of it so he didn't get kicked for mph, second pass launch it a little softer but hit the limiter in first and third didn't bother coming of it as it was late 9.15pm and ran 10.8@137.

Spiro, keep persevering and it’s a matter of time.

The big powered manuals with big weight cause major stresses.

I did a number of “gentle” passes with 2.0+ 60 foot times, which are enough to survive passes, and as you say run a mph.

The only hard launch I’ve done resulted in sheared flywheel bolts and damaged clutch.

With slicks that you are now using you will add another level of stress to the drivetrain, so the strategy is that when something breaks you should move to something stronger to find the next weakness in the drivetrain.

With a good launch and slicks you should be able to do a sub 1.8, and I’d expect to see a 10 with that.

Just out of curiousity, why are the manuals sooo hard to get right??

There are a stack of VE manuals dipping into low 11s and 10s with just an upgraded clutch as well as big power of coarse... There have been breakages no doubt but for so many to work so hard and still not have that 10 under the belt seems rather suprising.

I know that you are aware of the challenges, and as you said you did one hard launch and broke many thing's, I could of kept going even with the diff and CV banging in the rear but I decided not to because I intend to put all the pieces together! launch, 60ft & mph so that we may see exactly what is going on.

Wingnut, this is true however the fast one's run very serious 9inch IRS's with massive CV's, they are still breaking them here and there just like we are, they have just had more practice and R&D time than we have.

I didn`t get too many pics due to the crew buzzing around Spiro`s car and me not wanting to get under foot. The R Spec was parked immediately beside Spiro`s car.

Well I am tired so I will give you the short version!!

First pass reinforsed diff cover and Bolt smashed, right hand side Billet CV smashed, the only thing that didn't break is the standard right! Also shredded the 28x9's straight after cause the diff had moved not happy is all I can say.

All this with a girly 5000rpm launch and the big PSI race tune and race fuel, for the life of me I thought I would get at least one pass just to see the mph, I did not expect it to break at that rpm, this IRS business is really starting to turn my stomach.

One more go as soon as I repair the billet CV's and diff, THAT's IT I will waste no more time after that with the IRS and go straight to 9 inch!!

No worries mate was good to go watch anyway. It could have been a very expencive weekend for me as I hit a wallaby this morning.Luckly it only popped the front gaurd out . Cause 5g excess not cool
