Eg, at Brad Garlick. That may be why they're a little, err, hesitant to quote you on the cost of it.Darn though, what the hell is up with Sydney Ford dealers not offering the MyFord factory warranty? Must be making more money off their own dodgy brand. I wonder if they realise how many customers they're losing. If I can't get ford factory, I won't go through them. I can go to *any* bloody dealer or mechanic and get what they're offering for less.ws Edited 04/11/09 08:19 AM by wiresquire

I was thinking of getting either myFord or another aftermarket warranty but have decided against it. reasons are: don't want to give my car to Ford for servicing, I hate giving them the car even for warranty work, I don't want to have to get it serviced at any particular place. I will keep doing an oil change every 5000kms, get it on the hoist with my mechanic buddy every 7000-10000kms for a check over and tighten manifold bolts etc. perhaps go see someone who knows these cars like C&V every 12-18 months if there are problems we can't find.the way I see it, you will spend up to $2000 on an aftermarket warranty when really that money is best in your bank or investments and its probably just easier and less stressfull to cough up when something really dies. I have specifically asked for this and I keep getting all these other types of warranties thrown at me...they tell you its the same conditions as the factory warranty but its not...Its like there doesnt exist an extended warranty that is endorsed by Ford Motor Co...which will have exactly the same conditions as the 100,000km.On the surface all these warranties seem like the Ford one but when you read the fine print you notice all these conditions etc...which basically leave the warranty open to voiding your claim...they are not water tight warranties to the point where you will have piece of mind if you need to make a claim. You would pay and still feel insecure about them disallowing you a claim especially if its a big thing like gearbox or motor etc...(this is where you really want the warranty to come to the party...)So I am not even certain Ford Motor Co has an extended warranty...that's how confused and baffled I am at the moment...
