Im just wondering on people's opinions.

Do you get your car serviced from Ford themselves, or from a trusted mechanic.

My car is a 05 BA MK II N/a with a lpg conversion aboout 10k ago. I would rather get it serviced from my lpg mechanic but im worried that Ford actually do a better job, or not.

Its coming up for its 90k service and I just want ideas.

Unless it's warrenty related , my car will never go to the pie fetching Chimps at Fraud.

is there any mechanics around sydney that have one of the code readers. Just to check if I have any.

And refering to warranty, I threw mine out thew window when I found out I had to have it serviced by the selling dealership every 10000 kms or 6 months, whichever comes first.

Thank god I didn't pay any extra for it.

Having your car serviced at a dealer is the equivalent of flushing your hard earned down the toilet. I thought this was more or less common knowledge. Unless of course you like the idea of 16yr old apprentices on minimum wage playing around with your car at 20-30% extra cost. :beerchug:

I was really impressed with the response at my local ford dealer recently when I found my exhaust developed a bad vibration when stationary in Drive. Was told Ford has been aware of the problem for quite a while and are waiting for a fix. I was so happy to hear this and am looking forward to a day in the far off distant future that they might actually fix the problem. OR I think perhaps I am better off going to a mechanic who will diagnose the problem and fix the problem sooner rather than later.

The f*ckers charged my over $650 (might've even been more) for the 30,000km service at artarmon. There was no extra work done as nothing was wrong, other than remove turbo badge and replace wipers.

So...only dealer workshops employ apprentices and have the aim to make a profit? :bye:

There are plenty of dodgy places out there, dealers or not, but that might ruin your little story. Overall I've had better service from my dealer than any other workshop I've ever used.

Any tool can service a car,it isnt rocket science.. Ford do charge more no doubt but their is usually alot more knowledge about your car at a Ford dealership.. We get good local Mechanics ringing our Dealership up for advice,help and workshop manuals so it shows that servicing is easy but its the diagnostic side of things that alot struggle with. Diagnostic jobs arent usually given to monkeys anyway. Only real way to make sure the job is done properly and you are getting what you payed for is learn to do it yourself.
