if this is the case, then you have immediately failed. the car has been altered from factory tuning and is 'unable' to be tested. this fault must be fixed. it is not road legal.

if you get pulled over.. do you think you'd have time to flash it back to valet in the midst of getting arse raped? or are you talking about AFTER you've been pulled over.

When you have to take it in to be checked over, after being refered by the cops to get the car epa'd.

Why can cars be fitted with security systems that allow a Valet mode? If they are illegal?

good question. If you could figure out a way to make it so tricky to open your bonnet. pretend to struggle with it saying "bloody thing, always does this"..

Fark it,carry a pair of side cutters in the car and cut the cable just behind the fuse box if they ask you to open the bonnet. $30 cable and they always break anyway. Either way its a f*cking hassle but can be done.

You will get some copper determined to open it, so if you dont mind a dented/scratched bonnet, I wouldnt try the "bonnet wont open trick"

So my EPA letter arrived!!!!

1st thing next week the stock cooler and piping will be going back on.

Does anyone know if these cars will pass epa with injectors still in?

If the tester notices they are not original he will fail the car, you may be lucky and the tester may not know????

Get a tow truck. Its been tried many times.

Most of the references to the VIC version of the EPA are the same in NSW. And they do have some big fines.

Second time up here the RTA will cancell your rego.

If you flash it back to 'Valet' mode, so the car CAN NOT run past 3000rpm, how do they go about the emisions then? I've been thinking that If I get pulled over, I'll flash it back to Valet, and tell them the motor is made to redline at 3000rpm.

Mate don't sweat it, we have in Brisbane at the moment the OVERT Project- ( On-road Vehicle Emissions Random Testing, Project) and got pulled up the other day and cruised it in as follows:

carbon monoxide (CO)% Volume= Good is under 1 My test = 0.15

Hydrocarbon (HC) ppm = Good is under 150 My test = 38

To say I was worried about the HC test was an under statement as I was running octane boost with the fuel, but as the test shows, was well under.
