It may be posted somewhere but cant search the forums or interweb ATM due to being capped and every page taking ages to load....

So I bought a second hand PWR Alloy Expansion Tank and went to install it. Noticed the alloy one had 3 little hoses and 1 big hose. The standard plastic one has 2 little hoses and 1 big one. So 3 into 4 does not go...what gives am I missing something simple here?

Yer that is just an over fill line, u dont really need the line. they only use it when u have a bigger turbo that will throw off heat and cause the coolent to boil there for the need to have that line running some were but I dont no where they run it. I have one and didnt use the line with the stock turbo. but I have a bigger turbo now so I need it

hmmm ok so the line just under the cap I presume is not needed. but Ive seen some photos with cars with standard turbos that use the line. So they must just run the line somewhere below and out of the engine bay just as a drain?

it an over flow line at the top... either you put and over flow bottle connected to it or run an extra line and dump it to the ground like I had.
