Your suggested 8' +22 will sit 14mm further outboard than the standard wheels. I wouldnt be afraid of rolling the guards.....wider stance looks tough, this is an area where the XRs look weak. On 8' and 8.5' wheels, +30 is nice as it widens track a little with no rub. This fitment is common in Japanese wheels.In the rears if you are going to run 9.5s, +38 is the common fitment, however +30 or so will also work just needs a bit more guard work.there are online calculators for offset / width to take the mystery out of the whole thing.
