Gday, Ive got a BF xr6t and im getting a bit of work done to it... I Took it to a tuner and they said that they could tune the car with 60lb injectors but if im at idle for to long my engine could flood.

they are tuning it with xcal 3, V3.0, Walbro fuel pump, 4'dump, 5"cat-3'5"back if that makes any difference.

get a new tuner then as it sounds like they dont know how to tune a XR6T with those injectors. Ive got the same ones and with the car park they call Sydney motorways Ive never had an issue with stalling as has several hundred people who have these injectors on these forums

I Told them that heaps of people have 60lb injectors and they dont have any problems and he should call another tuner and ask them, he said that there good...

Its hard because the cars getting all the work done by them and there isnt many tuners in darwin :(

Tell them to leave adaptive learning on so the LTFT cleans up their scaling. With 02 feedback / closed loop control at idle.....your engine will never flood unless the scalars are outside the scope of closed loop control...if that's the case they should quit tuning.

...edit, they're not rich at idle..it's just that the common scalar figures used 'suggest' they're rich at idle. Closed loop control will always target 14.64 at idle, but I normally see ~14.8. Deka's are harder to scale but they're definately good on fuel IMO and flow well.

And my 60lb Deka's I have been struggling to make them richer as I

was around 16 to 17 afr's till this week and now they are just a tad lean at 4.8-5.1

using the adaptive.

Mine has never richened up even letting idle for approx 5 minutes.

If your tuner cant get them right find another or purchase the Racer Pro tuning package so

you can tune it yourself.

You will need a accurate Wideband AFR/Lambda gauge though as well.

If you have no idea on tuning its not a option I would suggest do tackle, best to just leave it stock.

Yeah, I went in there today and they said that they couldnt tune the car with the xcal3 with 60lb injectors so they have to do a tune to the ECU or something...

Haha are you serious...they were going to tune it via the xcal!! Now I see what they are saying about the flooding. Unless they have tuning software to load a custom calibrated tune for your car into the xcal3 then they're fcuked. Ask them if they have any ford tuning software...HP, SCT or Sniper.
