I got em on me fully hectic skyline ulleh, the difference in voltage from 12v to 15.8v is insane, if you dont run them your missing out on massive power and that would be wack :threadjacked:

D-1 spec ignition booster which can rise your ignition voltage from 12v to 15.8v

installed last week feels like just had the oil changed recommend to everyone here easy installation

I thought that when the engine was running the coils would be operating at 14.3v, because that output voltage of the alternator. So really there's only 1.5v increase using the booster.

Ericlai, there are some people you just cant help. They critisize something they have never done and have little knowledge of.

I have put up to 20 volts thru single coil/distributor setups where the main advantage lies (single coils as opposed to multi coil. Single coils have limited time to charge the coil at high RPM and the extra voltage helps). ICE ignition do the same thing with their ignition setups and their coils and boosters have been in engines that have won the Engine MAsters in the US.

The electrical setup in an engine wont necessarily delivery full battery voltage to the coils, so having the voltage booster deliver 15.8 volts to the coils is a good thing. Probably a couple of extra volts it would otherwise get.

I have put 20 volts thru oil filled ignition coils with 6-8 ms dwell time and whilst I thought it would fail, it still hasnt after 40K. I doubt it would damage the Ford coils.

I have got good results playing around with ignition systems but my starting point was low. With the strong multi coil ignition systems they have in cars today you can get a slight improvement but if the starting point is high sometimes there is only little to be gained.
