Hey all,

Had an pretty big off on my dirtbike on Sunday being a dickhead. Got off really light thanks to the gear I wear. Thought all was sweet just scraps and scratches. However about 3 hours later laid down on the bed an haven't been able to stand since. Went to hospital - they did nothing just gave me a litre of water to drink, some pain killers an a tetanus shot, said come back if you start vomiting or get agro. So now for the 2nd day just layin in bed on my back. All is good like that but as soon as I stand or sit I start to spin - I walk like a drunk.

Anyone had this before? I'm thinking of seeing doctor for some more info like if I should be trying to sit, kind of push through the comfort or just chill?

Did your head take a bump ? I'm no doctor but it sounds like you have a concussion.

In any case get to the Dr and get yourself checked out ASAP

I think the worst thing for consussion is to sleep, if its bad enough you can go into a coma, go and see someone else that knows what they are talking about.

Cheers Russ

:stupid:

Had this before from a bike off too... Only when I got up I spewed my head spun that hard. Don't sleep, go and see another doc, you're probably up for a CT scan.

It was a good off, I head to toed a few time apparently. I hit the back of my head hard, my helmets got some big sratches all over the whole back - I even managed to pop my camelbak, those bastards are ment to be unpopable theses days.

I thought sleep was bad too but ER doc said its good, just have someone wake you up every couple of hours make sure you wake up - not in a coma... thing is with concussion there is no treatment so if your stable they don't really care. I would've thought they'd do some scans or xrays - but just some simple range of movement tests an they figured I was alright. Just laid me down said I can leave when I drank a litre of water...

Just thought I'd post here see if anyone had the same sort of thing and their experiences?

Yeah I spewed when I first got up - just don't stand is my trick...

How long did it last for you and did they do anything other than a scan?

I've had concussion but didnt get really dizzy, just didnt know who the fark everyone was etc for a few hours.. didnt even recognise my own car I'd spent 5 years modifying etc hahah...

any ear/hearing damage with the stack or previosuly?? u might find you've got some paroxysmal positional vertigo which would account for the drunk/yak feeling when standing?? ive had that before and its the worst sh*t ever !!

can be brought on by a knock to the head which dislodges crystals in ya ear and affects the shizzle responsible for balance etc.

its definitely NOT just feeling a little bit dizzy or getting up too quick!

My vomiting lasted for 2 days every time I stood up, and the head aches were around for a week or two.

They did 2 CT's to be sure there was no bleeding etc, but I was given the all clear to go home, after a nights stay. My dizziness was only around for 2 days too,

Not good Timbo, let me know if Dr Karl needs to make a visit to Newstead??

I suffer from Vertigo pretty bad mate. Never used to until I was about 16 and I cartwheeled my go kart and wrapped my skull around a telegraph pole (it was a street circuit). Now if I hang upside down I black out. Once a year I get a major attack where I cant walk or get out of bed without massive head spins. Wouldn't wish this upon my worst enemy.

When I first got my FG F6 I had my recent attack. Doc said it could be due to travelling faster then usual.

Hope your all ok mate.
