^which is counter-productive to their entire marketing team. We buy the cars based on marketing. Car gets problem. Ford dealer denies problem tells customer is "normal". Customer cant stand problem, sells car. Buys a japenese car. Experiences excellent dealer service. Never returns to Ford. Tells everyone how bad Ford was. Word-of-mouth has greater power than a TV ad. Ford's sales decrease....

That exact scenario happened to my father who now drives a mazda 6 and the mazda dealer is brilliant, fixes everything.... he couldnt be happier. He is also laughing at the fact that my XR spends more time at the dealer than in my garage...

Unfortunatly, this report won't hurt Expensive Daewoo in the slightest because:

1. Ford will do absoloutly nothing to incorporate the results into their marketing.

2. Expensive Daewoo will, and is continuing to run a huge campaign stating their car is the most economical 6 on the market, even saying that it's better than some 4 cyliners. In one print ad they even say that the Late model camira uses 11% less fuel than the Falcon.

3. The useless ACCC will do nothing to stop Holden's false advertising, and Ford won't do anything to counteract the claims. Therefore Joe public will beleive Holden's calims as being true, simply because most people beleive adverts have to be true, otherwise the Governing bodies will stop them.

4. Expensive Daewoo are the greatest marketing and spin doctors in the Australasian automotive market. They have convinced the public that they are 'The Australian Car Manufacturer', despite being US owner, not producing a single car until after US ownership, the FJ being a Chevy variant, the Commorode having less local content than a Camry, major design input and influences from Opel, and most of their range coming from Korea. They have the most recalled car in Australian automotive history, since BA have had an inferior car with higher fuel consumption (not counting the gap between VE and FG), and their performance and power figures are extreemly questionable, yet they continue to dominate the market with all to many people expressing similar beleifs to the person highlighted by seduced.

Seen Fords full page ads in all the major papers promoting this economy win?

About time they started going on the attack. Marin is like a pit bull. He's done a great job since he started and its only going to continue to improve. Waiting lists on some cars is already out till January.

I agree guys, never been a fan of Ford's customer service. I had to wait 90 minutes for them to give me a bottle of retouch paint.

Ford should be glad that Japanese makers don't do affordable, powerful, rear wheel drive cars in Australia.

haha...typical:

Yet Expensive Daewoo later issued a press release spruiking the efficiency of its 3.0-litre Late model camira based on the controversial Global Green Challenge, a 3000-kilometre fuel test between Darwin and Adelaide.

It failed to mention the extremities of the testing, which involved driving through the desert at up to 60km/h below the 130km/h Northern Territory speed limit in 40-degree heat without the air-conditioning in use.

Yeah, that's a 'real world' scenario isn't it!

Toyota Japan should import the Mark X (RWD, mid-large size car). would be a huge market for it over here. No idea why it doesn't.

Ford service is pretty woeful, and to be honest the worst part of the new Daewoo/Expensive Daewoo range is the Lion badge, the rest of the car doesn't look too bad, but this bigass plati-chrome Lion really cheapens them.

Look how far Lexus has come in 20 years, quality vehicles and making the customer feel like a king has been a huge success.

As usual, Expensive Daewoo failed to acknowledge that the Ford was subject to the same conditions and test as the Holden. How could they possibly claim they were hard done by. Only a Expensive Daewoo customer would be stupid enough to beleive their crap of "The test had a big hill, hills make our car use more fuel, but don't worry, there aren't any hills on real roads." :fishin:

Yeah Lexus IS350 (Toyota Alteza) is another great RWD sporty car.

I'm a bit iffy about spending my first 50K (after finishing uni) on an XR6T. Best sporty cruiser under 50K -> assuming nothing goes wrong.
