hey guys, this has probs been covered before though-

3.5"/1.5"split dump

and a

4" dump

and mild steel vs stainless...

to suit 100cpi cat, 3.5" systm with 1 muffler.

car-bf xr6t ute

current mods- rapid system v3, 60lb injectors, bosch 044.

power figure- chasing 300-350rwkw

and have been quoted $1300-1400 for 3.5" split/3.5" system

and $1500-1800 for 4" dump/3.5" or dual 2.5" system (xforce stainless)

If you guys could help me with information on spool, power ratings, quality, etc and reputable exhaust shops in the qld brisbane area that would be great. cheers

I have a 4" dump pipe, 3.5" cat and 2.5" twins and works well. Wrapped the dump pipe in exhaust wrap.

You should expect the exhaust to flow about 1000Hp, so mid 300's will be a walk in the park.

Im a Sydney sider, so I cant tell you any good shops up your way but sure someone will let you know soon.

Glad to help out mate.

I slapped the pipe on and went straight to get tuned up.

Ive got a ute aswell. The X-force system works well on it. Have a mate running 400's with the same pipes. I have found it resinates a bit between 1600 and 1900 rpm with the 2 mufflers. It doesnt worry me too much personally but I know there are some people that hate it.

when does your power come on, a good exhaust will flow low down power to get you started and then mid to top end to keep you going, depends where you want you power

3.5" twin dump pipe /3.5" system good low down power less lag (I would recommend this for mid 300rwkw)

4" dump/3.5" or dual 2.5" system (xforce stainless) good top end power more lag and more back psi (I wouldn't recommend )

I've heard that a smaller dump like the 3.5" would be better for the mid 300rwkw but what about a high 200rwkw?? would a 3" do the job?

The factory cast dump is 3" so no point wasting money on getting an aftermarket 3". If you are going to replace the dump then go for either a 3.5" split or straight 4".

If you only want high 200's get a high flow metal cat (4.5" or 5" body) and that's all you will need.
