It depends on to many factors to determine, all I can tell you is that mine took another 2 weeks from paint to delivery.

its about a week after painted it goes into pre-delivery ( 2 days testing then wholesale - then delivery time depending on trucks / rail etc ). It then takes about 2 working days in pre-delivery before you can get it.

I know this from first hand experience 2 weeks ago.

Hey SweetXR, do you know if they are going to give your engine bay a clear coat to match the body? Rather than leaving it in the ugly matt primer finish?

Da BIG BOSS - Mr Geoff Polites mentioned in an earlier thread that from Sep 1st all engine bays will match their external body and receive a top coat and clear coat. I have my $50K T on order (3/4 weeks away) and there is no way I want it in that finish. I have requested the dealer to find out but no reply yet.

Would it be too early to ask if there are any XR Sep '03 builds in the hands of memebers with the clear coat????? Any one please reply.

Thanks

I orderd my XR8 on Monday, should have it in 3 to 4 weeks. will check out the bay then.

Ah, there's that glimmer of hope I lost so long ago. The faith in the dealer actually knowing when it will turn up. The magic word should mate!

Sorry I don't mean to discourage you. Good luck.

xr6t4me,

My car was finisihed on 30/8. The engine bay is black like the rest of the car, but it is a matt finish, not shiny like a clear plastic coating would give.

cheers

Just spoke to the dealer. :phone: Car arrived at FPV yesterday. Not long now. I don't know how the guys here who had to wait 5 or more months did it. <_< Nerves of steel. I will keep everyone up to date.
