Hey all.. picking up my N/A bf mkII in a few weeks just a quick question as im still on P-plates will I get F***ed over by the cops by having pacemacker headers, high flow cat and an SS COI kit? im in N.S.W by the way. I read on the RTA site that I cant have any engine mods that require an engineers certificate if that helps.. do those mods class as an engine mod and do I require an engineers ccertificate if they do class as an engine mod.

Thanks

Don't think so, seems like pretty standard mods.

Might be different up north though.

No, headers and cat are exhaust, so you don't need an engineers certificate.

Generally, you will only need an engineers certificate (or a mod plate in QLD) for larger modifications such as moving it from auto to manual transmission or converting it to turbo/super.

As long as they're all done properly and there's not a pod filter flapping about in the engine bay you should be alright. Happy motoring!

Pod filter needs to be boxed or you will be defected..

Food for thought! Do you realise that police can defect you at any time for any modification that is not done by the manufacturer this includes a K&N Panel filter. Only reason why they don’t is cause they are too stupid to know what they are looking at or they don’t care.

That’s coming directly from the cops!

Mind you not that it stops me or most people!!!

1: high flow cat convertors are not legal, but very popular ;)

2: " SS COI kit" . . . . . shop around for a better $/kw mod if I was you

3: no mod plated need for your list of mods

Ah not true. Cops lie. It's in their righteousness nature to be mightier than god or the transport dept.

Wheels, brakes, suspension, diff, exhaust, air box and more can be changed as long as they comply with the ADR rules without actually having to be ADR'd.

Turboing, supercharging, manual to auto, new motor and yep You need the tag. Most guys at the dep trans are into thier cars and not too bad to talk too.
