People,

If you visit the APS web site you'll see a picture of the Phase 4 upgrade, with the redesign of the whole inlet along the lines of the GCG/nizpro kit.

As I've stated in the past this is a far more efficient design than what Ford produced, and what Ford would/should have done if they weren't building the car to a price.

Link is http://www.airpowersystems.com.au/falcon/phase_iv.htm

Note:

Battery and air inlet now reversed I.e on opposite sides of the car

New Inlet plenum which looks much larger than standard

Extra fuel rail to feed ancillary injectors ... looks like 6 extra injectors

Much larger intercooler is included (but obviously not in picture).

As stated by APS last week, it may still be 6 months before this kit is released, pending durability testing etc.

Last week APS did mention a minor change to the exhaust manifold and turbo exhaust housing; more details in due course.

Looks very tempting, and a radical upgrade from Phase 2.

Brian

I think the Phase IV kit looks very professional and is a great design. Is the 315KW at the wheels from the Phase IV?

As David was saying other modifications such as brakes etc should be looked at on top of the Phase IV kit for safety issues. Is this needed and recommended for this kit?

The APS systems do look very nice indeed. If you're after that much power yeah. Very neat and tidy package, good design. Well done APS. That's tops.

I also really like what DynoSteve had done to that powerhouse HgAg XR6T of his though. Man it's nice. More 'ballsy' look to the engine bay but that's me, I like a more ballsy look. Loved it. Looked brilliant. Much nicer design than the earlier pics on this forum around the time of BNE Cruise No. III. Brisbane people that haven't seen it and that are going to the Dyno Day on the 27th this month, ask Steve if you can check it out while you are there.

I haven't seen Steve's car but Ilike stuff like this to look neat and tidy, "factory" as I said in an earlier post, so the casual observer thinks it's all stock.

Not wanting to knock APS but that black thing with the gold/brass coloured fuel rail hanging off the RHS of the motor looks like such an add-on, the Nizpro looks factory.

OK, OK I'll shutup about it now! :o

I think its great, we are starting to have more choices when it comes to seriously modify our cars.

APS, Redcliffe, Nizpro, CAPA, GCG.... (sorry to anybody I left off!)

The Nizpro setup looks much better IMO. More "factory".

That depends if the factory is in Japan or Australia!

The Nizpro kit looks Nissan whereas the APS kit looks Ford (except for maybe the fuel rail which could be painted).

Who gives a rats ass as to how "pretty" it looks. Its the engineering part that matters. APS has retained the TB in the middle for equal air distribution reasons and Nizmo have gone their way cause the plumbing is a bit more efficient. Both have adv and disadv which we will end up sorting out at the dyno.

But to you guys who like it because it looks good, your just suckers. Its whats on the inside of those parts that counts, not whats on the outside. Big chrome tips dont make the car go faster.
