!Help! Lost All Oil Pressure

thanks cameron, I found that if you turn the engine slightly it comes out heaps easier.

well my engine is out and suprisingly no obvious damage besides the oil pump in pieces, no signs of oil starvation but I plan to replace the bearings any way so I am pretty happy.

if any one knows any other common places I should look for damage please tell me, cause at the momment I plan to just replace the pump and bearrings.

hey guys im a mechanic

just a few things I notice u did that I wouldnt have done

was take the exhuast and inlet mainfold off before removing the engine,I would have left them on and had them fitted when refitting the engine

the other thing that will make ut job alot easier is to keep the strap as short as possable (from the crane to engine)

and dont forget when u refit the clutch u will need to borrow an iput shaft to line the splines on the clutches up or u will never get the engine back into the gearbox

Thanks for the tips Brett, I only took the Inlet manifold off as it made it easier to get to things and take other stuff off as I had to wait for a hoist. The Lift point on the intake side was spaced out with a couple of big nuts, with the gasket still in place to protect the machined surface on the head. The exhaust Manifold was left on.

On the topic of the Clutch, does anyone know where I can get the alignment tool from or as brett said an input shaft. I was thinking of asking the local ford dealer if I could borrow theirs but I will as the local mechanics too.

I'm going to wrap it up and strap it to a pallet tomorrow and organise it to be sent on Monday

turned it clockwise looking from the top but had the exhuast manafold off not sure if that would make a differance, only reason that was off was cause I got bored when I didn't have a hoist and started pullin it apart, wanted to see if the turbo and stuff was leaking which it was and I had big crack in the dump pipe where the waste gate pipe was welded (I will be puttin it back on befor it goes back in)

can anyone tell me, whats the go with getting the turbo crack tested and roughly wat it costs, places to get it done, I think I'll get the waste gate a flapper done too.

sweet thanks mate. I will most likely Bolt nearly every thing back on and install the sensors before she goes back in.

If you take your exhaust housing off you will be able to see any major cracks, well I could. If you look on the yellow pages website seach non-destructive testing I think it is. I'm not sure on price but we have CCI pope come out to work and do testing on large equipment.

I can crack test whatever you need, I'm in emerald in central queensland. You'd have to ship it here and back, and sort out what it'll cost for consumables, but I can do it. My unofficial job description is 'crack tester' otherwise known as an NDT technician.

Well the motor is all wrapped up and strapped to pallet ready to be sent away tomorrow, and I gave the engine bay a but of a clean today with some degreaser and soap. I also ran some degreaser through the bottom half of the intake manifold to get the deposits of oil out then tipped it out but didn't wash it, just sealed her up with some foil tape.

it made a mess of the housing,so I need a new one if anyone knows the best place to get one I supose 2nd hand would be the best option?

Save yourself from this again and get brad from atomic to hook you up with a new pump, they are expensive but if you plan on keeping the car its piece of mine I reckon. I don't know how many you would find second hand.
