Try bypassing the boost control solenoid by running the hose directly from the comp cover to the wastegate actuator and see if the problem goes away.

the easiest way to do this is remove the battery and look down the passenger side of the battery, there will be a plastic thingy there with 2 hoses going to it, join those hoses together and see if it sits at 5psi.

etm, is the stock solonoid open when unplugged or is it closed, if its open when unplugged you may just have to unplug the 2 wire plug to do this test.

So this morning on the way to uni I used the economy tune from CV to see if I could notice a difference. It was exactely the same as it had been the day before. In fact by the time I was nearing uni (about 1 hour drive) it was getting so bad I couldnt even accelerate slowly in 4th gear. Cruise control 120kph, no worries at all, but as soon as I tried to accelerate it was sh*te ><.

So it drove home a little better, after resting for 6 hours. Then once I got home I reflashed with my performance tune and went for a burn. The lag was almost gone, but it was still a little noticeable (I think) although I had 2 other passengers I think it was gone.

What a pain in the arse. I booked the car in at CV next week after speaking to Jono. He thinks it may just be a tune issue so they can throw it on the dyno for me and check it out. I just hope that it is something that will reveal itself on a dyno...

So bypassing the stock solenoid is like bypassing the boost controller? even if I disconnect this and do what u have suggested ETM im guessing that I would need to replace the solenoid? or the controller?

Yep do as ETM has sugested if you cant get to CV.

Bypassing the solenoid will make the turbo run the acctuators pressure, which "should" be 12psi from looking at your sig.

if you do this, you eliminate the pcm controlling boost, so you'll know the mechanical side is fine.

Yup it seems that the turbo makes 12psi happily while bypassing the solenoid. So I guess its either the controller or the tune.. Thanks for all the advice guys, finally got this bug! cheers. :innocent:

Well, remember when I said it was intermittant? It started doing it again today. Even while I had the solenoid bypassed.. it was definately less noticeable though, but im assuming that's because the boost wasnt getting as high without the controller. Booked in for thursday at CV, guess ill see what they have to say about it. It does have me a little worried that it might be the 4 speed though ><
