I put it down to not 'what he says' but 'how he says it'. Rossi says "Is windy, very hard on change of direction, but we'll see." Stoner says "It's windy, and hard on the bike on the change of direction, we'll have to wait and see how the race goes"... unfortunately, rossi says it smiling, and stoner says it with an air of concern. Doesn't rub off to well with many people.

I've been following stoner since we saw him race in England back in the late 90's on a little 125 round donington, and he was farkin fast then, but always had sh*thouse machinery. It was a golden moment to see him switch to Ducati, cos the bike was fast and he could ride the wheels off it. I'm hoping for a rossi switch to ducati next year, but we'll have to wait till the european summer to find out, it'd be great to see how the golden child handles the Duc.
