Nice one John, FG's are a good thing indeed, theres alot of little tweaks & fixes that ford have done.

5 days isnt too bad... I had my FG 3 days befor ripping off the stock wheels... 5 days and everything between turbo and TB was off LOL

I just noticed this thread, I knew you had ordered the car but I am surprised you did not have Jim pick the car up from the dealer for you. Save you the time dropping off to him.

This long and not even thinking about a K&N, I'm not sure if I am surprised or disappointed.

ide have to mod it straight away!

when I first picked up my Typhoon I planned my route home via HPF, Pit Lane Performance and Nizpro to shop for a tuner and organise mods!

How do you find the manual shifter? I found it OK in the fg F6 (ive only driven the auto in xr6t), but my Dad's fg XR8 manual is the worst ive ever driven - slow clucky and huge bang from the diff if you are 1% inaccurate on changes. .

it'd be great to see a fast manual out there stickin it to these boring auto guys haha

Well it's over a week and I have not modified it yet. Not even the air filter, no airbox mods, I dont think that I've even touched the motor yet !

I'm starting to stretch its legs and it is feeling better and better. It definitely needs suspension but I might try some sway bars (when they become available) before I go to springs and shocks.

I jumped in the Taxi on the weekend and took it for a drive down to Tunehouse and boy what a difference after driving the FG for a week. You cannot compare the standard torque to 1200+ nm !!

The car feels great and apart from a small rattle in the boot which I fixed in 2 mins the car is running well.

I do not think that the clutch is going to hold on to much more power as I can feel that it is slipping already.

I will try and get it on the dyno to see where the power is at before I take it to the creek and run some baseline numbers.

Should be fun !!

Go the suspension

Tein coil overs and super pro bushes

then you can get all that power down to the ground. And go around corners. Truly the best mod for the price.

The Teins and superpro bushes are a no brainer... the results in full street trim with the BA on 19" Maxxis tyres speak for themselves.

I'll see how she goes once we start upping the power but will prefer to do a little r&d with Tunehouse to see if we can find a better and possibly more cost effective combo with the intension that is might be sold as a custom package through Tunehouse.

My BA was one of the first to have the Tiens installed and there was a bit of work involved to get the setup and como right. Going the Teins sounds like the easy option but it might not be the best combo for the FGs?

The BA Taxi has been a 6 year project were we did a lot of r&d and tried a number of combos for not only engine performance but chassis setup. It is amazing what the right wheel alignment will do for a car.

It's been a lot of fun and I am looking forward to taking on the same approach with the FG.

At this stage I am happy to drive a bog stock car...
