dont believe everything you read...

there was a number of factors rather than just power that got it into the 9's

just having a crack! im going to be very careful until I get to the skidpan..and I never set out to make outright power, ive tried from all my own reading etc to try and set the car up properly...I will be getting a race tune done with staged boost etc, have the suspension done (have got 90/10 shocks and konis for the rear, cheers pat). tried to do all the rear end right etc. hope it works out! but not expecting a 9 first time out or anything like that

think im going to blow my top soon...so I find out YOU CANT RUN STAND ALONE ECU with this car....everything bps did was a waste of time. SOOO back in with the standard ecu and standard wiring harness, from here the aurtonic/cdi will be spliced in and HOPEFULLY works..now costing me more money and time, what a f*ck around!!!!! :beerchug: :argue:

well you can run stand alone but the interior command centre (that controls the dash, central locking, stereo, air cond and ignition) will not work, so unless your building a race car with custom gauge dash and dont need to lock your car dont try it :beerchug: :argue:

Ive said it to you in private Quinn, this scenario is terrible.

I hope Hi Torque is able to pick up where its been left off with minimal issues or delay for you and that the car reaches the goals you initially set out for it to achieve.

Anyways, How come you went down the path of aftermarket ECU? its not like we dont have the technology to flash tune these..

a number of workshops have gone down that path, and well.. end result was no longer a street car.. bad cold starts, oh and you need a real cable for the accelerator pedal.. Fail =)

cheers for that, well its a known fact when you push the envelope and try new things, you run into problems..im glad if nothing else im learning about these cars and adding to the experience pool that I and everyone else here has benefitted from aswell....

karl-that's the latest problem, they CANT take over from where james left off, because james made a standalone harness for the autronic (3-4 months worth), and planned to just plug the air con in etc...but the whole interior command centre wont work without the CAN (some safety system), fully wired in with the standard ecu..so basically the whole time its been at bps has been a waste of time and a learning curve (not to mention waste of money)..hi-torque will be starting FRESH with a new standard wiring loom (pulling all of james wiring out), and installing the autronic as a 'piggy back' so the standard ecu still thinks its in control of the car...

im very confident its in good hands now. for example when I went to drop all my suspension and bushes down and axles and diff, the rear cradle had been dropped out and was in peices waiting FOR ME TO ARRIVE!!! not use me bringing the parts down as a reason to put the car off as ive been used to..

trav-giving there are no problems hopefully should be going next week sometime, but in hindsight, id be shooting myself in the foot getting excited about deadlines..

I have just been further demoralised after seeing my uncles car, a 33 hotrod with a nelson racing engine (waiting on a few parts) in it (cnc ported brodix heads, custom plenum with built in water to air intercooler, SYMETRICAL billet twin turbos, quad fuel rails using pump fuel until boost then race fuel), hoping for a conservative street tune of around 1500hp at the tyres.. :beerchug: maybe I need to sell up and stop beating around the bush :3gears::roflmbo:

fark sake mate, I feel so bad 4 u. that is laughingly rediculous. so u are goin to hi torque now ? u cud go to elite and speak to timmy, he is a bloody genius. the only person I will ever trust with my car. surely they would know not to replace the entire ecu with the autronic ??
