Ed, Silver/Red hawk has challenged your credibility and you have chosen to ignore his taunts. I, for one, am curious as to how you got the massive power increase for (presumably) less than the cost difference between a N/a and Turbo.I'm not trying to stir - this is a genuine query. With a Turbo and an XT in the family, I would like to know how it was achieved - or are you having us all on? My understanding is Ford took the most cost-effective route to giving the 6 some real go by bolting on the hair-dryer. Could there really be another way to get the same outcome for less dollars?I must admit Mrs z's XT fells livelier than the T off the line with light use of the loud pedal. I reckon this is due to the reduced compression of the T before the turbo comes into action. But as soon as the boost is accessed, the difference is astounding.RegardszekePS I'm really sh*tty about a local dealer advertising the N/a XR6 @ $36,990 and saying "drive the best sports car of 2003". The N/a is a fine car, but the T won that accolade - just another case of trying to hoodwink the punters!

Sorry for my slack speedreading. So the increase isn't as much as I thought you were saying. Still curious how it was achieved, though.zeke(and this wasn't just an excuse to score my 100th post!) He's always talking about 'woodies' getting larger, hahaha. :D I think you might have mis read the meaning behind it.Just as well you corrected yourself dude, was ready to come in with guns blazing. Patronizing is not a good thing in my eyes....lol. Really BAD Monday morning and I'm in the foulest of moods. Need to go for another spirited drive tonight to make things feel better Roughly 175kw@RW (233HP@RW) and that is 'fair dinkum' Was in the passenger side with Steve at the time the N/A achieved this result. Not much has been done to the car apart from making her breathe a hell of a lot better along with mods to the computer. That's it! It's all she needs done to become a beast with larger teeth. The Barra is one fine powerhouse. And as I've said, if you're interested in modding up the Barra 182? Ask Steve. It is a cheap alternative to the T so why not, well it was for us.BTW, Jason, who did all that "Blueprint" colour coded stuff on your XR6? That is soooo cool. Mmmmmm, Phantom! Now you have got me going. That looks sh*t hot dude.

I have yet to have it dynoed however.so spill - what were the mods??? I cant believe such a huge increase (what approx 230kw at flywheel) with just exhaust. I know that if I get extracters to complement the cat-back I would be making near the 200kw (flywheel) mark. So where do the extra ponies come from??? Guest DEVO Guests Posted 22/09/03 10:48 AM Share Posted 22/09/03 10:48 AM Had a bit of a chat with the supplier of my system in regards to extractors. I would be interested in peoples thoughts on these comments. Basically, he was recommending another product(besides pacemakers) as he said they have slightly shorter primaries and will result in more low end torque, where pacemakers are better for high end power. My opinion is that better low down torque will be better to get near 1700kg of car moving. Out of interest, the other product(name escapes me at this point) was cheaper, but still looked Sh@t hot compared to the standard manifold.
