Had my hot side piping off the other day as I'm changing it and I noticed a slight layer of oil in the piping all the way down into the cooler. Is my turbo on it's way out? It has about 1mm shaft play in and out but how is the oil getting through?

Thanks any help appreciated.

Sounds like normal blowby to me.

How old is your car?

Does it use any oil?

Does the turbo make any 'slight grinding' noises?

Yeah unfortunatly its the norm... I've removed some hot side pipes and had oil poor out onto the floor, and the cars still go on to make big power.

But, if your turbo is starting to get oily, I recomend fitting an oil/air separtor ( catch can ) as oil in the intake increases the chances of detonation.
