Posted 20/10/09 09:33 AM Share Posted 20/10/09 09:33 AM (edited) Guys - my diff rebuild finished today, thanks to the guys at Haart Transmissions at Brendale.Opted for a factory Ford LSD and couldn't be happier with the result. No doubt about it - way, way improved over the diff in my BF2; backlash tollerances are spot on, absolutely no noise (let alone clunking) on roll on roll off, or at speed. Performance charactertistics of the car are changed completely - no issues powering out of corners; it does cross up a bit before intervention from software, but it's quite predictable. Wet weather next week so will let you know what happens after some judiscious gentle experimenting. If the dry is any indication, it will be perfect from the software perspective.Photographic series follows - cage in, cage out, rebuild, and then re-install. Will post more soon in a second post. Will be interesting to hear how it impacts on the DSC/TC on wet roads.

That includes both dry and wet roads. What the LSD has done, is make the car more enjoyable when ya switch the TC/DSC off.Back to back in the dry and the wet, my G6ET with the TC/DSC on feels no different than my mates auto FG XR6T in the way it drives now. (remembering my car has been lowered and has better tyres than stock, his also has these mods)

Realistically we are probably talking about 0.5% of G6ET owners replacing the diff...but best not let the truth get in the way Thanks Smackers. I'm too scared to turn the DSC/TC off - or use more than 15% throttle - so would be wasted on me I guess.
