I would love to see a rabbit shot with one of those. Twice the recoil of a .308 but! My shoulder is still tender today from putting a box of 15 through the .308 yesterday morning using a bench rest! I just couldn't shoulder it properly and it got me right on the bone at one stage!

Nearly my exact shopping list! Except I'll get a stainless & fluted barrel and a silver Leupold VX3 4.5x14x50 Not getting the stainless Varmit cause you can spot it a mile away. Apparantly its a reflective issue.Never done a lot of Rambo hunting on foot, just chasing in 351ci buggys and auto shottys...they tend to settle the agruement at 20m.Getting the VX1 cause Im on a budget of about $1700 for the lotStandard trigger is at 7 lb on these Rem 700's...looking to adjust this down a bit to help with accuracy...maybe 4lb or

Nah, it was 15 shots on the bone of my shoulder. As I said, because of the bench rest I couldn't shoulder it properly so it was hitting me wrong. I probably should have done something about it but... hey, I'm lazy.....What will you be hunting with the .338 Troughy??? Or is it just a bit of fun? Like my neighbors 45.70 “Guvana “ just for shyts and giggles.Ehhh... Stainless looks the shizz but! Realistically, what are you planning on shooting that can see your barrel from a couple hundred meters away anyway? Most stuff relies on smell and if something is close enough to actually be able to see your silver barrel it's about to be in a world of hurt anyway! I had a Decelerator fitted to that.

Or is it just a bit of fun? Like my neighbors 45.70 “Guvana “ just for shyts and giggles.I use my 22-250 as a everything gun, but I want the .338 behind the seat for that once ina blue moon "sh*t I wish I had a long-range gun" for those 300+ metre shots... their capable of 700m.Its gunna be fitted with a bipod and more than likely a Bushnell 2.5-20x42mm scope, im yet to find a scope with such a small min zoom for such a large max zoom. Either way ill be buying the scope from the states, the aussie importer "NIOA" slap so much extra on top of the american price its not funny, for eg: I had my eye on a Weaver 4.5-16x40 here in aus for $810.. shopped around a bit, $340 US dollars landed to my door.so yer basically it wont get used alot, but hey ive got all my life to go for a trip upto darwin or wherever hunting, it'll come in handy one day! Till then she's just gunna be "my baby"!
