Not sure about the autos, but the manual BFs run a 3.73 diff. I can't see Ford signing off two different ratios on the same model, I'd say the autos are the same.

OP: 4sp will be fine. What happened to the REX?

My theory is: dont "punish" car in 'auto mode' kicking back gears (switch to seqen.) and dont flat shift (I.e. for gear changes: back of the gas..click up cog, or down cog...then back on gas, as you would in a manual).

not sure about 4spd but doing this to the zf can twist your input shaft. better off leaving your foot down when changing so the power is constant and less stress on the box and driveline.

in my old 2003 xr6 t that was making only 275 atw I had a few problems with 1, 2 and third slipping and it was because my coolant was leaking into the trans causing everything in it to rust out and eventually ka boom. Now I am only 20 so as most 20 year olds do I thrashed the absolute sh*t out of that car so I wasnt really suprised, I sent the car to yarra valley autos who are highly recomended in vic and it came back with fully rebuilt, strenghend and a 3000 convertor for $3700. The differance between a xr6t with a convertor to without is crazy u could not have 1 without it as they are a bit lagy down low. But now with my new car I have a fully manualised c-9 3 speed with a transbreak so hope that never has a problem.
