Hey guys,

Just a quick one, I'm getting a set of Nizpro Valve Springs installed some point in the very near future, do I need a tune immediatly, or am I right to drive around 'till I get my pump and injectors installed and then get the tune?

Also, while I've got you, I have a Capa Flash Box that has previously been used on another car (1 life is used) am I able to use that on my car? Is there any way to tell if it's locked or not?

Thanks, Michael.

Your car will run fine with just a valve spring change. It will not have any ill affects on your tune. As for your flashbox, no you cannot use it on your car until it is unlocked and tunes installed to suit your car. Using somebody elses tune, even if it is a custom tune, is basically a generic tune in your car and may lead to engine damage. If we can be of any more help please let me know.

Valve springs have no impact on tune at all. Drive it forever on a stock tune....no difference. All the uprated springs are doing is preventing high rpm float.

Will my tuner be able to unlock it?

if the flash box has been reflashed to stock then yes he should be able to unlock it.if not then it will have to be sent to capa who will then send it to the USA to be unlocked.(the bloke at capa told me this)as I now have a nice paper weight to show.(flash 1 box not returned to stock not worth sending it off!!)

Ahhhhh. Is there a way I can tell if it's flashed back to stock before I book in my tune and drive an hour to get there(I'd prefer not to leave my car there for the tuner to tell me my box is locked)?

Also, is there any way I can tell the difference between the boxes?

Thanks heaps for all your help, guys.
