Noticing oil around the filler cap, Dad decided to give the oil filler cap a tweak. Check the photo out to see what came out. :o

Took it to the dealer who fortunatley was able to recover all the peices of plastic that fell into the top end. Dealer replaced the oil cap which has the recommended 15/30 printed on it.

This isnt right guys is it? (isnt it 15/40)!!!

We came to the conclusion that it may have been expansion/failure from heat, overtightening and a crappy cap which caused problem.

I recommend all guys with new cars check the cap is not over tight and smear some oil around the seal.

Cracking oil filler caps has been around since the AU days. Mine has been replaced already. I got to mine early, before any bits fell into the rocker cover though!
