Which Oil Do You Use?

..... some Ford Performance Vehicles using Mobil 1-- 0W-40, they indicated that only the BOSS 290 engines use the Mobil 1 --0W-40 oil.

FPV no longer use Mobil 1. The factory fill is now Castrol Formula R Synthetic. Still the same viscosity though(0w/40)

The oil I was thinking of was the 5W/50 or 15w/50 Mobil 1.

Years ago I did some work on Touring Cars for the Tooheys 1000 when I was just a young apprentice (I feel SSOOO old). Anyway we had and engine on the dyno with mineral oil and ran it for 45 minutes. We stopped and changed to some sythentic oil given to us by Toyota Team Australia. There was a 10.5kw jump just going to the sythetic oil. I would not have believed it had I not seen it with my own eyes, but since then I have been a big fan of sythetic oil for road and race track.

BP Visco 5000 beats mobil 1, Shell and Castrol fully synthetic oils.

Just got Castrol 5w40 put in, see how it goes from here.

I'll just stick to what Ford recommend for the car, it's safer that way, less confusion.
