Guest colinbond Guests Posted 14/09/03 01:22 AM Share Posted 14/09/03 01:22 AM Hello All,I have just purchased a XR6 Turbo which should be delivered in Novomber. My question is, Whta oil are you running in your XR6 Turbo and do you wait till the engine has around 10000km on before using synthetic oil? Thanks :D
Guest Guests Posted 14/09/03 05:09 AM Share Posted 14/09/03 05:09 AM I changed my filter only at 3k,and will change to synthetic oil at the 15k service. Do a search and youll find the good oil.

There was a "oil change" thread a while ago that went into the synthetic vs mineral argument. My car is going by the dealers book, so it has had synthetic and changes every 5000. Although that interval isn't in the book. They use Castrol Magnatec.

Thanks Moff :D but what I was interested in was has the dealers said anything to any of you about using Synthetic oil before 10000km? And have you noticed any oil that peforms better. Slashed a second of my quarter times. No, really!!Hehe, ok, so there's no noticeable difference. And I wasn't expecting any. Anyone who says 'My engine revs smoother and harder now' after an oil change is kidding themselves. Unless ofcourse we're talking a 200k km old Oil change...
