As the topic says, is there anyone that knows wether Ford have revised the FG rear CV in the Tailshaft?

I know of one person who had his tailshaft replaced with what seems to be a larger rear CV.

I have rung my dealer, his dealer, FORD directly and no one seems to know anything.

Cheers

Christian

Is this on a sedan or ute?

I have an issue with a bad shake through my car.

Going to Ford on Wednesday and hopefully getting it repaired under warranty.

Shouldnt be a problem as I havent done anything to the car which would affect the driveline. (I think)

Has anyone else had the issue of a bad shake through the middle to rear of the car/ute at 80km/h or above.

I have an XR6T ute if anyone is wondering.

Yes, there are revised driveline parts for FG utes.

Includes a whole new shaft are rear end setup.

When my shaft broke, I was told they were 5 weeks away. . .

So I had something custom made up instead, its bloody strong too!!

Sam, yours sounds like an unbalanced tailshaft. They usually vibrate at 80km/h plus. Ford will fix it no worries.

Took my fg xr8 ute in this morning to the dealer to be told that it I needed a total new tailshaft assembly, when it was a centre bearing between the 2 shafts that had totally disintergrated.....the thing is is that there are none available in the country and they couldnt give me a time to pick the ute up....no loan car.....no phone call yet!!.. nothing!!!......1 week?? 2weeks??? who knows?????

My problem ended up being a wheel weight was thrown on the front left wheel.

It didnt matter where that wheel went the problem stayed. Weird.

But it is fixed now so that's good.

My fg xr6t ute has made a dook like noise for ages. I have had ford have a look at it and they said it was fine. Now after some mods and heavy right foot here and there it has gotten a lot worse, It happens on takeoff and when I turn at low speeds, When it isn't under throttle.

Any ideas?
