Can you live with some squeal from the pads? I've found this set up ok for 3-4 minutes which will include 180-100, 150-80, 130-70, 130-60 hard each minute. How will an aftermarket caliper/rotor combo affect stock master cylinder and ABS system? We have seen before that for 1 and 2 stops often stock brakes that stock hardware that is OEM ABS is calibrated with stop very very close to much more impressive hardware.I dont believe the upgrade you mention will result in a massive difference to a what you can get from the FPV combo set up right....well not enough to warrant the cost (just imho)Racebrakes have also suggested running EVO8/9 Pads in the front which are a little wider that the FPV pads (understand there is slight overlap on the rotor) I havent looked into this further but its another possibility.EDIT : For those that are interested check out :http://racebrakes.co.nz/pdf/brake_upgrade.pdfIts waffly but interesting and explains the importance of all components in the braking system, mu , c.o.f. and the like. Pretty much toss a coin.....maybe Harrops to be different, bigger rotor as well. I'd expect they are but are the rotor widths the same?My mate has the Harrop 6 pot front and rear with 380mm rotors all round on his VZ, was around 7k I think and they really do pull up well, just make sure you carry a spare wheel that can clear the brakes though, otherwise call a towtruck lol
